Billionaire commits suicide after killing wife, daughter in US
An Indian-origin businessman ended his life after killing his wife and teenage daughter in his $5 million mansion in the US state of Massachusetts.
According to US media outlets, the bodies of three people have been found in a very luxurious mansion. They have been identified as 57-year-old Rakesh, 54-year-old Tina and 18-year-old Ariana.
The New York Post has claimed that Rakesh Kamal’s sprawling mansion covers 19,000 square feet. It has 11 beds and 14 bathrooms and this haveli is located in the richest and safest area of the state.
The haveli was bought by Rakesh Kamal in 2019 for USD 4 million and is now valued at USD 5.45 million, but now it was sold for USD 3 million in an auction a year ago.
Tina and Rakesh were running an educational institution company called EduNova. Records show that the couple had faced financial problems in recent years. His company was started in 2016 and dissolved in December 2021.
Ariana, daughter of Rakesh and Tina, was a student of Middlebury College, which cost $ 64,800 annually.
Police say the reason for the post-suicide has not yet been determined. A weapon has also been found near Rakesh Kamal’s body which is not registered in Rakesh’s name. All three were killed by the same gun.
A press release issued by the police said that complete forensic and ballistic testing of the gun has not been finalized. In search of the real owner of the weapons, information is being obtained from liquor, drug, arms, and explosives dealers.
