France clears iPhone 12 for sale, post software update – All You Need to Know
French authorities have approved a software update released by Apple for the iPhone 12.
Last week, France banned the sale of the iPhone 12 in the country after it failed electromagnetic radiation tests.
France ordered Apple to recall all units in the country for failing to resolve the issue. While other European countries had warned that they could also follow France’s decision.
Challenging France’s issues regarding the iPhone 12, Apple clarified that the regulatory agency (ANFR) has submitted all lab test results to the organization on behalf of the company and third parties, which states that this device meets all legal requirements.
Later on Tuesday, Apple provided French authorities with the software update of its iPhone 12 to address radiation concerns. This was confirmed by sources in the French Digital Ministry.
France’s move to ban the sale of the iPhone 12 also caused concern in Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands.
Belgium also requested a software update, but the update was limited to France.
