
The Taliban-led Afghanistan government have allowed girls to enroll in government medical institutions for the new academic year beginning in March 2024.
The official news agency of Afghanistan, Bakhtar News reported on Tuesday the admission process for girls education in Afghanistan has been started in more than a dozen Afghan provinces after the new order.
The Taliban banned girls from studying beyond class 6 since they regained power in Afghanistan in August 2021, and barred women from working in the public and private sectors.
However, now that the Afghan Health Ministry allowed girls to study in medical institutions, whereas, graduating girls can resume their education and get jobs in the health sector. The health sector is one of the few sectors where Afghan women are still allowed to work.
